This section is dedicated to the bipedal, warm-blooded, egg-laying and vertebrate animals we know as birds. They are organized according to scientific classification and on this page you start by selecting an order of your choice.
Orders
- Anseriformes, contains ducks, geese, and swans.
- Charadriiformes, contains mostly birds that live near water and eat invertibrates (animals without a spinal column).
- Ciconiiformes, contains large, long-legged wading birds.
- Columbiformes, includes doves and pigeons.
- Falconiformes
- Galliformes, contains turkeys, grouse, chickens, quails and pheasants.
- Gruiformes, contains various birds. Gruiform means crane like.
- Passeriformes, the largest of all bird orders. Containts more than half of all species of birds.
- Piciformes, contains woodpeckers and close relatives.
- Podicipediformes, contains fresh water diving birds.
