Svalbard 2019

This trip was arranged by Wild Images Photo Tours and operated by Oceanwide Expeditions. It was very professionally guided by Mike Watson from Wild Images and Phil Wickens from Oceanwide Expeditions. Also the crew of SV Noorderlicht did a fantastic job: Floris, Jonathan, Svinda and Mark. They put in lots of hard work but were always nice and friendly.


It was painful to see the impact of the climate change first hand. Glaciers are vanishing and the wildlife is changing. For this trip the emissions of the connection with Longyearbyen were reduced by going by train between Falkenberg and Oslo, and the flights between Oslo and Longyearbyen were compensated for through Bamboo Village Uganda.
